The Kako is the second vessel of the Furutaka-class heavy cruisers built in the 1920s. It is Funky Valentine's lucky ship.

20 December 1941: Part of a naval task force including IJN Aoba, IJN Kinugasa, IJN Furutaka and 4 destroyers patrolling Japanese home waters.
15 February 1942: The task force intercepts and sinks 6 allied transports near the Philippines.
16 February 1942: A further 6 transports are intercepted, 2 confirmed sunk, 4 heavily damaged.
20 February 1942: Two liners sunk near the Philippines.
